Former marine goes AWOL after playing Call of Duty

A Former US Marine went missing last Sunday after playing the popular war video game Call of Duty.

Eric W. Hall had been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder since returning from from Iraq. He has a severe leg injury from a bomb blast which also killed his friend.

Relatives say Hall had been playing Call of Duty which may have triggered some bad memories, when "He just got up and said he had to go".

I hope they find the guy safe and sound. And fingers crossed we don't see the less reputable news outlets reporting this story as an excuse to ban violent video games.

That is intense. Very good game, though I can certainly understand how someone with intense memories containing actual war, violence and death, would react in such a way.

Very sad for the poor guy, he must have been through hell.

You're right - some news outlets will surely use this to bash video games, rather than bash the root course - war and shoddy treatment of ex-soldiers, once they're used up...
