Jack Thompson faces possible disbarmentMikey 4 comments
We've talked about Jack Thompson quite a bit on Rusty Lime, sometimes about his unfounded law suites regarding video-game/real-life violence connections, sometimes about his shady business practices, and once for suggesting that a reputable game reviewer should molest children.
To use an old adage: Karma is a bitch. In 2007 the Florida Bar filed a 38-page complaint against Thompson for the aforementioned abuses and a few others according to Ars Technica:
"knowingly making a false statement of material fact or law to a tribunal"
"using means that have no purpose other than to embarrass, delay, or burden a third person"
"engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation"
"making statements that the lawyer knows to be false or with reckless disregard as to the truth or falsity concerning to the qualifications or integrity of a judge"
A Judge has finally released a report recommending that Thompson be found guilty of 27 of the 31 charges. The Supreme Court has also declared it will no longer accept any filings from Thompson unless they have been signed by another lawyer.
Thompson, unsurprisingly, is facing possible disbarment and in my opinion would be well deserved poetic justice.
