301? Sequel to 300 apparently imminent

It turns out the film studios were rather impressed with the box office receipts from Zack Snyder's epic Spartan bloodbath, 300. So it's no surprise then that a sequel is on the horizon, although King Leonidas and his compadre's should technically be absent.

This isn't a sealed deal just yet as producer Mark Canton is still awaiting the official green light from Warner Bros, which if his optimism is anything to go by should be inevitable.

I sure hope they're not going to go through with it for it's destined to fail. 300 is born from the genius of Frank Miller (who derived information from some other movie depicting the same battle) and so everything in the new 300 movie comes from the special artistic approach of Miller (the same guy behind Sin City). The story also got a pretty definite ending, now why try to milk the bull for something?

Probably end up being about another war around the same time period instead of an actual sequel.

There were plenty of spartan wars to use as material, obviously the war against the invading persian army was the most noteable because of the reputed diffence in the size of the armies. This will be interesting though.

They will probably just CGI Waldo into the movie somewhere making the Spartan army 301 men strong. The fans of 300 do not care too much for story anyway, so they will enjoy the violence and cliché for 301st time and argue intellectually whether it is historically correct that Waldo was present... if they can even find him.

...in response to this comment by Joe Marco. Well, for me the movie was about art. One beautiful ride from the beginning to the end everything created only for the pure eye-pleasure. Yeah, there were some feelings (my sister cried in the end), some story (to get it goin'), but in the end I went to see art and art I got. Twice. :P
