Homeless man with golden voice gets job offers

You can't help but love stories like this. Ted Williams has been homeless for much of his senior life due to a history of drugs and alcohol, but has also been clean and sober for the past 2 years as he tries to get his life back on track.

Ted has been making ends meet by holding a sign in the street that says he has fallen on hard times, and for some small change (even a quarter) he will say something for you with his amazing radio voice. Check out this video if you haven't already seen it.

Here's the best part. As you can plainly hear the guy has talent, and thanks to the person who originally posted the video on Youtube (who also recognised Ted's potential and gave him a mobile phone with plenty of minutes), Ted has had a stack of job offers throw at him.

The latest update on reads "You can give yourselves and Ted a high-five. He's being given offers hand-over-fist over the air. He'll be set for life."

Incredible. Ted has since been where he acknowledges his fortune and becomes emotional at the prospect of seeing his Mother for the first time in "a great deal of time".

Update: Ted has been given a job and a home!

340 total kudos

That's a really lovely story (except for the wasted life that lead up to it, of course). None the less, it does warm the heart to see him getting the chance he needs.

It was a surprise to hear at that voice... And very clever to promote himself that way.
