Scientists invent Holodeck
Mikey 5 commentsDust off your Starfleet uniform, because the future is here. The VirtualSphere is the closest thing to the Start Trek holodeck ever devised. The player wears a motion tracking headset which assist in projecting the visuals correctly onto the sphere. You can run, jump, roll, or crawl over unlimited distances.
At $UK15,000 it doesn't come cheap, but don't be surprised if some rich kids are able to get their hands on one and make a Half Life2 mode for it. I totally want one.

Not very good (the video, not the device) but the best I could find.
I'd like to trial one at a show and see how good they really are.
Cost doesn't matter - if they're actually usable they will eventually come down in cost and become a "normal" house-hold device.

And everywhere men thought as one "When do they come out with the porn edition?"
Unfortunate but true because we really are basic creatures.

Monday 17th March 2008 | 03:30 AMYea, I always wondered...when Barkley was caught in the holodeck in his fantasy world, they never really mention him having sex with the ladies, when you know in fact he was going for broke.
Once step closer to the matrix.

Half Life, Half Life 2, Portal, F.E.A.R., Dawn of War, or more specifically, Warhammer 40000.

And those are just some of my favourite games, you could adapt it for anything really.
DUDE THAT IS AWESOME!!!.
I don't want one, I need one.
