Google Transit now available in Australia

I'm not entirely sure how this news slipped by me, but Google Transit arrived in Australia last week. Integrated into , Transit will show you all available public transport routes.

This is good news for people tired of using Transperth's lacklustre uninformative solution (me included), which although does work it also requires a JAVA plug-in to operate (just to look at a map!). This is of course assuming you can get the Transperth web site to load, which always seems to happen at the most inopportune of times.

Anyway, using the Get Directions option on , click the Take Public Transit link.

I just moved to Melbourne from Toronto and nothing is more complicated than trying to find my way around without a car. This is a godsend (on this site that might be a four letter word)
