A thirty six year old woman is recovering in hospital after a crocodile attack was cut short by her husband who jumped on it's back to rescue her. Darwin Police Watch Commander Bob Harrison said:

"Certainly a dangerous size and I believe that through the actions of her husband she has now lived to tell the tale...Obviously he's a very heroic sort of person to do that"

Steve Irwin would have been proud.
