Bill & Ted's unnecessary remake

Bill & Ted's unnecessary remake

If it was still April the 1st I would be taking this as a joke. Believe it or not, the classic 1989 teen riot "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" is going to be remade.

The script will undergo significant 'cultural enhancements' so that it's relevant to today's kids audience - word. My only question: Who will they cast as Ted (Keanu Reeves)? My money is on George Carlin returning in his original role. For those who missed it growing up, here's the original trailer.

I heard about this. I started twitching when I read it. I have easily watched the original 500 times. When I had it on VHS I burned the tape out and had to buy it again. Of course I own it on DVD now. I even have Bogus Journey. I have started twitching again.

I can't leave this one alone. I am really upset and twitching. Really this movie is so dated to the time period that it came out. As The Movie Whore even I am looking at this as one of the worst ideas ever. The original was a crappy movie but highly entertaining. I mean let's see the effects this movie had.

Since making this movie, in nearly every Keanu Reeves film since this the directors always find one moment for him to say "Whoa" and now they want to remake this.

How do you replace George Carlin as Rufus. He is one of the reasons this movie works.

Not to mention that while no one really talked like that they have to change all the slang and basically change what the characters are. They are going to have to go from being SoCal morons to stoners. I am guessing they will Put Ashton Kutcher and Sean William Scott in the roles. Just watch "Dude, Where's my Car" and you will see that they are the only 2 guys you could use for this needless remake.

I would much rather they dig up Alex Winter get Keanu and George and then make a where are they now. The Further Adventures of Bill and Ted. As for the story you have Bill and Ted being in the future and coming back to now where they must fins a way to bring peace to the middle east with their music. They could get captured by terrorists and drive the terrorists insane. Then they could be questioned by the CIA and we could watch agents losing their minds dealing with these two morons. They could nearly set off some WMD's. The phone booth could land them in the Oval Office. I am just saying that there things we could with this concept other than making a remake.

Seriously I watch Troma flicks and I own Xanadu and I love bad movies so if The Movie Whore starts twitching and is about ready to snap at the very idea of a remake of this classic cult film then you can be pretty sure it is a bad idea.

....my god! the movie machine at it again, as if there aren't enough stories to be told...oh wait...it's about making millions and not a decent film.
