The Paris Bar Council has suspended lawyer Elizabeth Martin for 6 months for sending out hundreds of thousands of threatening letters to alleged file sharers, demanding they cough up 4oo euros or suffer consequences.

Aside from employing the same shady tactics as the RIAA when it comes to accusing file sharers (you know, accusing innocent people without probable cause and hoping they will pay instead of facing a legal battle), Martin also cashed payments into a private account instead of the usual dedicated litigation account. She has also been banned from belonging to the National Council of the Bars (CNB) and other such professional associations for a period of 10 years.
