Yahoo responds to Microsoft's ultimatum: More money please!
Mikey 1 commentMicrosoft are still keen on nabbing Yahoo! having given the company a three week ultimatum. But Jerry Yang and Roy Bostock of Yahoo! reckon Microsoft needs to stop messing about and make a serious offer.
"we will not allow you or anyone else to acquire the company for anything less than its full value....We consider your threat to commence an unsolicited offer and proxy contest to displace our independent Board members to be counterproductive and inconsistent with your stated objective of a friendly transaction."
I think $US44.6 Billion is a substantial number but then I'm not qualified to evaluate a company like Yahoo! In any event we know 2 things. Microsoft wants Yahoo! and Yahoo! are entertaining the idea of selling. What it means for end users is yet to be seen, but if it goes down like past acquisitions, there will be a lot of complaining at first (think about when Yahoo! took over Flickr) but before long all the noise dies down and everyone gets back to business.

I'd say a LOT of complaining would go down, among other things.
