BNP Candidate sacked for questionable blog post about rape

British National Party member Nick Eriksen has been sacked as the party's London Assembly candidate for expressing his questionable views on rape on his blog. The post which has since been removed said:

"Rape is simply sex (I am talking about 'husband-rape' here)... Women enjoy sex, so rape cannot be such a terrible physical ordeal...To suggest that rape, when conducted without violence, is a serious crime is like suggesting force-feeding a woman chocolate cake is a heinous offence."

Eriksen, who blogs under the alias 'Sir John Bull' says he has been deliberately misquoted, and as written in the title of this blog is well known for being "provocative, tongue-in-cheek and controversial, designed to stimulate thought and debate on the issues raised". Incidentally I just checked Google's cache version and that is not what the title of his blog said less than a week ago. Maybe the new title is to just clarify the 'tongue-in-cheek' position, but it is odd he chose to do that.

It doesn't matter anyway. I don't think rape is such a funny topic that its easy to be tongue-in-cheek about it. But you be the judge.
