The cake is still a lie for 2008

The cake is still a lie for 2008

This news comes as a double edged sword of sorts. For one thing, I want more Portal and I want it sooner than later. But at the same time Doug Lombardi's reason for the delay is well justified.

"I think that when you hit something like that, you have two choices: you can quickly replicate it and stick it out there - do the opportunistic thing and cash in on it - or you can do the crazy thing like we did after Half-Life was so successful and go off and try and say, ‘Okay, that was revolutionary, so its successor has to be equally as revolutionary"

Just think about Half Life 2, 6 years in development and worth every bit of the long wait. But I guess that's to be expected with a company like Valve who are known for delivering nothing short of quality, and equally as well known for trumping their own technologies. Anyway, I am still looking forward to the sequel.

If you still haven't played this ground breaking game, I urge you to separate with the thirty odd dollars and nab it now. It's worth every cent. Need more convincing? Check out my review.

I totally agree.

Despite having a second mortgage and three kids by the time you see a sequel for Valve games, the quality of game that is delivered is nothing short of outstanding.

When I describe portal to my friends I say "the object is to get to the other side of the room". But nothing can prepare for how hard that simple premise can be. More portal please.

Portal is one of those games.

Portal was totally excellent. One of those ground breaking conceptual, thinking outside of the box (literally) games that reall worked on just so many levels.

HL2:E2 was also pretty darn good and was equally as entertaining.
