Balls of steel: Man saves 170kg bear from drowning

Seriously, you read the title correctly. The bear was spotted and near Apalachicola (USA) on the weekend. Fearing the safety of nearby residents, the bear was sedated with a tranquilliser dart as it was in the water.

As it collapsed it was apparent the bear would drown, so biologist Adam Warwick jumped in to rescue the bear and drag it to shore.

Nice one.

What sort of negligent idiot would fire a tranq at a swimming bear... obviously the thing was going to pass out, and with it's exertion in the water, it was going to quicker than if at rest!

This guy takes the cake for awesome and obscure rescue of the millenia. He deserves a medal, and a hot model for his efforts.
