Creepy animated woman follows you

While looking for a decent picture to replace the one Jaquie had used in her article (I caught that one in time!), I came across this which I found quite fascinating.

It uses Adobe Flash technology to render a almost realistic woman who follows and reacts to your mouse movements. The effect is both cute and creepy at the same time.

It was produced by MotionPortrait who from what I can tell are in the business of making interactive web based 3D models. Nice work.

Seriously check this out.

Does "renders an almost realistic woman" mean that she is or is not completely computer generated and animated. I can't tell.

...in response to this comment by Gina Squitieri. The textures would have been created from traditional photography, mapped onto polygons using a wireframe model.

I thought so. It has that photographic look to it. Don't get me wrong, I don't know much about that kind of work, but I've seen enough of it. Still, you really have to look closely, but even then you can't hardly tell real from fake. That's the creepy part.

She's been looking around too long - her eyes are bloodshot!

I'm pretty sure she smoked some weed before being photographed for this.
