Snickers adverts pulled for being anti-gay

You know those hilarious over-the-top Snickers adverts featuring the recently resurrected Mr T? Apparently the latest has been pulled from television because certain people say it contains anti-gay sentiment.

Judge for yourself:

It made me laugh and I can't see anything anti-gay about it. Mr T isn't hassling the power walker of being gay (of which there is no evidence anyway), he's hassling him for partaking in an what could be considered an 'unmanly' activity, so there is a distinct difference. The phrase 'get some nuts' is used as a double entendre, meaning to get some Snickers (because they contain nuts) and to grow a pair of testicles (nuts).

This is the second Snickers advert to be pulled for anti-gay sentiment. The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and the Human Rights Campaign complained about the Snickers Super Bowl advert.

Check this one out:

That's even funnier than the previous. Is there anyone in gay audience that could offer perspective?

The second one seems more anti homophobic.
Perhaps the complaint is more a ploy to keep the ball rolling for gay rights in the media then genuine disgruntlement.

I`m gay.
I thought the first commercial was a pile of shite and didn`t really see anything gay about it - I hated "The A Team" though. I thought shooting at someone was more offensive.
The second commercial was plain funny. Maybe the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation shouldn`t be so bloody precious and learn to have a laugh.

The Superbowl ad is pretty good! If you told me someone was offended by the first ad, I may have thought you would be referring to power walkers... but definitely not the gay community (or representatives of).

Well I`m shocked that either ad were taken off. Why don't they take off all the comedy programs as well. Geez. I don't think any of my gay friends would have a problem with those ads (and if anything, I think the second would be worse than the Mr.T one). I agree with Peter, some people just need to get a sense of humour. My gay friends are fine with gay jokes, same as I`m fine with straight jokes. Everyone needs to be able to laugh at themselves.
The 2nd ad was a bit weak, but Mr.T's was really funny, and now alot of people are missing out on it. Maybe everyone should complain that it was taken off??
