Awesome tech: Using digital stills to enhance consumer video

This is very impressive technology. These guys have developed a method that allows you to capture regular video on a handycam and combine it with digital photographs of the same scene to output a super high resolution version of the video. It looks better than how I am making it sound, so see the video below for yourself.

In addition to the higher resolution, the algorithm also does dynamic over exposure correction, masking, image stabilisation and other effects. I can't wait for this to turn up as a plugin for Sony Vegas.
