How Benjamin Button got his face

As someone who does the occasional 3D modelling as a hobby (and on the rare occasion at work), I have a healthy appreciation for how difficult it must be for some special effects studios to what they do.

Last month I watched 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' and I enjoyed it on 2 levels. Firstly for the great story telling and secondly for the fact that it wasn't until the credits rolled that realised I wasn't distracted by any obvious crappy effects (AKA 'I am legend').

I would have put money on there being some facial prosthetics and make-up involved somewhere along the way, but it turns out I was way off. Brad Pitt's head was entirely CGI.
