Australia to switch off incandescent bulbs
Mikey 2 commentsIn what is apparently a world first for an entire nation, Australia is about to ban incandescent light bulbs.
Environment Minister Malcolm Turnball says the ban should save around 800,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions during the three years and reduce emissions by 4 million tonnes by 2015.

On the downside, fluorescent bulbs are around 6 dollars each, so it's going to cost me around $130 to make the change. And nearly 4 years before I start saving money on having purchased them (at around $30/year savings), assuming they last 4 years :-)
