Google to ban scam advertising

Google is about to put a dent in its own revenue stream in the name of honesty. Sticking to their 'do not evil' mantra (do they officially still subscribe to that?), advertisers who appear to be obvious scams will be permanently banned from taking part in the Adsense program.

This isn't just a ban of the adverts, but a ban of the organisations behind them. Spammy adverts include but are not limited to get rich quick schemes, teeth whiteners, and unrealistic weight loss claims to name just a few.

Facebook are probably wishing they had the foresight to do the same a while ago, as they are currently for allowing these exact same types of adverts to appear among those crappy browser games (Mafia Wars for example), where many users have already been scammed.

I'm in favour of any move to clean up the internet, so this is good news.
