Amazing art by Xia Xiao Wan

With so many people are pushing the boundaries of digital art, it's refreshing to see the hands on approach has not been lost.

Take these astonishing images created by using several layers of glass. The Giger-ish artwork beautifully compliments this particular glass medium.

I would love to see them in real life. Incidentally, the artist is Xia Xiao Wan, and you can see more of and purchase his art at Artnet.com.

Thanks to Kim OJ for pointing me in the right direction.

As someone who appreciates the expression of the darker emotions and statements in art, I think that these works are truly unique and very powerful. Way to go, and keep up the killer work.

Kinda like real-life Photoshop. Great idea to use layers for your artwork. Really cool.

Dear rebs, pissed off and artisto,

At the time I had posted this, the link to the source article actually worked. I see now that the source is now dead for what ever reason. The source never made mention of the original artist (and neither did the others I found) except that it was reported to be by an 'unknown Russian artist' or something along those lines. Further research turned up nothing.

But not knowing the artist's name won't stop me from advertising photos of his/her incredible art.

If you know who the artist is then please advise as I will gladly give them credit, as I have done with other articles on this site that display art. But by the sounds of it, you don't know who the artist is either. But you are glad you have seen it now - right?

I like this. And it appears that credit was given to the artists.

Those who feel like posting ignorant, pseudo-intellectual comments apparently have nothing better to do than argue on the internet.

Good post!
