Werribee rapists/child pornographers elude justice

Further proof that the lawyers who make the wheels of justice turn don't have a freaking clue about what the term 'justice' actually means, the seven Werribee boys who admitted to luring, raping, burning, urinating on and beating an under aged autistic girl (and selling a DVD of the horrific offence) won't see a single day of jail or even detention.

According to the Sunday Times, 'significant concessions' were made when boys all pleaded guilty, and the prosecutor has decided not to push for time in custody. There is no mention of it, but I would like to hear what the father of the girl has to say about this decision.

So the message here is that teenage boys can get away with atrocities like this, as long as they admit to it. Yay for justice.

A think a suitable punishment would be for each boy to be raped, burned, urinated on and beaten regularly in a 'pound me in the arse' jail.

The people who negotiated the deals to let them off so easily should be ashamed. They are morally repugnant, out of touch dickheads.

Whilst I wholeheartedly beleive that these kids didn't get their just deserves, I don't think that the lawyers should be discredited because of it. They were just doing their job, same as a soldier or a locksmith. If they had have pulled their legal council, another lawyer would have jumped in and pick up where they left off.

It is, more often than not, the magistrate that decides the fate of the accused. In this case, they were far too soft on the offenders and I can only hope an inquiry follow.
