Ford recalls 3.6 million vehicles
Mikey 3 commentsThe auto giant is recalling 3.6 millions cars manufactured between the years 1992 - 2004 due to a faulty cruise control switch. Apparently the switch remains active even when the vehicle is turned off, which could result in a fire.
That's one massive recall and the cost will hit Ford where it hurts, but it probably pales in comparison to potential law suits resulting from wrongful death.
Full list of vehicles recalled.

Nah, don't worry. The cruise control is always on... they'll get themselves back home.

Wednesday 8th August 2007 | 08:11 AMSeveral deaths or very near misses need to occurr to incite any type of recall. Remember 'Fight Club'?
Most of the components for these cars would be outsourced anyway, so more likely than not, Ford will not be souly responsible for the bill, with most of the costs going being paid by the company who manufactures the component. Accountability is the second only to cost in the reasons why large companies outsource...
