Microsoft releases official Vista updates

The leaked Vista Service pack we mentioned back in August is now officially available on Microsoft's web site. Validation is required as per usual.

The updates are surprisingly small, with the largest weighing in at 14.1mb. Anyway, if you install the updates and want to share your experiences here, you are more than welcome.

Vista Performance Update

x86 Download (9.9mb)
x64 Download (14.1mb)

Vista Reliability Update

x86 Download (2.1 mb)
x64 Download (3.6mb)

Although this is a much welcomed series of fixes, this is no service pack; rather they're patch roll-ups (a series of related fixes).

Still, I have personally experienced at least half of the errors they claim to fix, so I will begin installation immediately... right after a system restore point is created :-p

The good news is, I passed validation!
