The Boy With The Incredible Brain

Daniel Tammet claims he can solve enormous calculations in his head. That might not sound so exciting but consider he has been able to do this ever since he was a toddler, and he is not a savant which is a reasonable expectation for someone with such heightened mathematical abilities.

If numbers don't impress you, Daniel is also a bit of a wordsmith and speaks 9 languages, and says he can learn a new one in only a week.

In fact, Daniels brain power demonstrations are so great they are expected to spawn an entirely new filed of research. The calculator demonstration is particularly impressive.

That's simply incredible. Can I please have a similar seizure?

I wanted to make jokes about asking why he isn't smart enough to brush his teeth but it doesn't do justice to what incredible doors this will eventually open.

Wholy crap!

What an incredible life though. I wonder though if he is still able to see a tree and appreciate it for what it is... what an incredible gift though.

I have watched this doc 3 times and it is still amazing. What freak of nature gives him both savant abilities and still be socially normal? As far as I know this has never happened before which makes Daniel a 1 in 6 billion chance.

I was wondering why someone with such capability is only tutoring part-time as a job, as at first I would have expected him to be lecturing at Cambridge or something. But then he doesn't seem to have the problem solving skills that any maths expert should have, as instead the answers simply appear in his head.
