Scientist claims 'proof' of afterlife

After conducting what some might say is questionable research, Scientists at the University of Arizona in the USofA say they have proof that when we die we continue to live past our physical bodies.
This 'proof' comes from a spiritual medium, whose laboratory controlled readings apparently could not have been guessed or fudged, ergo, 'proof'. Professor Schwartz says:
"There are so many people that are going to try to find holes in what we've done ...there is not a hole to find when we agree, or get a final protocol done. When you look at the totality of the data from our laboratory, the simplest explanation is actually that survival of consciousness is real"
The sceptic in me says there has to be another explanation, but then I'm no expert on the after life. It's not that I wouldn't like there to be an afterlife, its that I need rock solid evidence - not faith - which probably won't ever happen on this subject.

Saturday 28th June 2008 | 10:27 PMThe only thing I believe are the actual studies that have shown that for up to 20 minutes after death, the dead continue to hear what's going on around them (that is if they possessed that ability in the first place). Your hearing is the last thing to go.
So many people want to connect with their dead relatives, and since there are those people out there, there will be those schools who will gladly conduct studies (for a small government grant?) to "prove" it. On the other hand, I suppose we can be thankful they're not shooting people in dead, or helping the drug smugglers, or taking nasty pictures of youths, or torturing 5-year-olds.

They had one medium giving information.
If it were even to be considered scientific, they would have had at least 10 'mediums' and a few control people totally separated from the others and each would have to give the same report or description in order for the result to be quantifiable.
These people have done more than hurt their cause, they've absolutely killed it (some pun intended).

But it only confirms partly what I said.
There is a part in the video where the speaker says
"Yes, it is true there are some (Enoch, Elisha and Moses ) who have bypassed the grave" and some were resurrected 2000 years ago w/ Christ and...they all have physical bodies.

The speaker even uses the term "eternal damnation" which is an unscriptural term and I cringe whenever I hear it. I absolutely loath that mistranslation/misinterpretation.

Listen, I did do what that speaker in the video said and I went to my bible, and didn't just trust what he said, and I found that all those people all died.

Respect, do you see a contradiction in what the speaker in that video says and what the Word of God actually says? I do.
He says: "Don't take my or anyone else's word for it. Go to your bible and check it out for yourselves," and then goes on to state that Moses and Enoch and Elisha all ascended and "bypassed the grave."
How did they bypass the grave, when the bible plainly states that the penalty for sin [to miss the mark] is death. What no man or woman has ever lived (except Jesus) who doesn't miss the mark every now and then. Yet the speaker in the video (with his calm, hypnotic voice) attempts to convince the viewers that that is not true.
Unbelievable. Please understand, I'm not coming down on you, because I know how easily it is to be deceived. It was an excellent teaching tool nonetheless.

In fact, there was another video that I listened to as well that was from their library and it was completely off the mark.
I'm glad you pointed out those errors.
Gina - I just don't understand why there is so much misleading today by these preachers. Too much twisting going on, if you have an idea as to why please fill me in.

on the afterlife.. my brother was hit and run by a car at the age of 6.. he died for approx 3 or so mins. and (obviously) was rescusitated by a nurse who was travelling in the car behind the one that hit him.
he has no memories of the accident, nor of anything else, but waking in a hospital some time later.
thats not to say that there isnt anything there on the 'other side'.. maybe his juvenile mind was too young to comprehend what had happened.. he didnt see the white light or get the feeling of love or what ever is meant to happen. all i know is some cretin ran over my older brother and kept on going, and im very lucky to have him

I recently took a stroll down memory lane (was a 70's child) and learned that women actually thought that because they were screwing anyone they wanted whenever they wanted that this made them stronger or equal with men. That was Marshall Kirk hard at work, possibly; but FOR SURE it was women acting like whores -- and that kind of behavior will never contribute to a person's well being or character growth. And, that behavior spilled over into the generations that followed and many girls and women even today continue to blindly follow that lead, although I wouldn't call that leadership, just the blind leading the blind, and they have ALL suffered majorly for it. Feminism was supposed to be about empowerment, I think. But that kind of behavior never empowered any woman or girl I know.

Hebrews was written in the second century extolling a mythical character who may have lived in the first.
Genesis covers Enoch quite well. No he didnt die, he just had great joggers.
Would it be inconvenient to refer to old testament stuff written by guys in the 6th-2nd century BCE rather than a spurious note commenting on it from the 2nd-3rd century CE.
Genesis was never considered history but hebrews basically was a coaches half time chat!
