Sofia Rodriguez-Urrutia-Shu - killer sentenced
Mikey 15 commentsIt was been a long time coming but child murderer Dante Wyndam Arthurs will be sentenced today for the 2006 murder of eight-year-old Sofia Rodriguez-Urrutia-Shu.
Arthurs has admitted to killing Sofia, and faces a life sentence with a non-parole period of seven to fourteen years, though he is never expected to make parole.
I still stand by my previous suggestion of bypassing rehabilitation altogether, but if it is any consolation, Sofia's family will at least finally have justice even if it only turns out to be a life sentence for their daughters killer.
And as this sad chapter closes, let us never forget. Horrific crimes like this occur everywhere, even in our sleepy little town of . Keep your children close. Never take your eyes off them, and we might just never see monsters the likes of Arthurs making headlines again.

Friday 9th November 2007 | 04:17 AMNo seriously guys, There's always this lame ass debate about reducing oneself to the level of a killer if we support 'capital punishment'. But for fucks sake, what good does it serve society at large to keep filth alive? give me one good reason, anyone??
Instead, of having some long drawn out court proceeding that drains our coffers, if the case in fact is that either one has plead guilt or has been found guilty beyond any shadow of a doubt, then the family of the victim should have the right of revenge. Meaning, the guilty party faces their demise at the hands of the family.
It's old school, it's very tribal, and you know, I'm all for it. Think about it.
